Jul. 22nd, 2014 08:32 pmShe's not technically patrolling tonight - she doesn't patrol much at all anymore, really - but Saffron's walking by the Necropolis on her way home anyway, just to see how things are. It isn't that she's lost interest in hunting, but the number of folks whose job it is to fight crime and evil and the like seems to have gone up quite a bit, and though Saffron has gained a whole lot of supernatural knowledge in the past couple of years and can more than handle herself in a fight, she feels the job's best left to the pros, with her as backup if need be.
As a result, it's been a while since she's been over this way, so as dusk begins she's walking down Canal St, a sweater on over her blouse to keep out the evening chill. She would swear she's not looking for trouble, but maybe some part of her is, a small part that's been itching for a fight ever since her enhanced strength went away. She does, at least, have a stake tucked into the pocket of her jeans, and her ever-present cross necklace around her neck along with the pendant from Dean.
Even though she's on the alert the appearance of a vamp, his game face already on, surprises her a little. "Not even going to pretend?" she calls sweetly as he strolls out casually to block her path.
He just shrugs. "I'm not into games," he says, before lunging.
Saffron ducks neatly out of the way before swiveling to deliver a kick that knocks him forward, but not to the ground. He turns around with a snarl, advancing on her again. "That all you got, Red?" he taunts, and she readies herself, pulling the stake out of her pocket with a dark smile. Yeah, she'd missed this.
She's confident she can handle just this one on her own. The problem, however, is going to come when she discovers there's a second one creeping up quietly behind her as she's busy with the first.
