Jun. 7th, 2012 08:48 pmSaffron supposes the city of Darrow is all right, but so far she hasn't come up with any solid reason to like it better than Tabula Rasa. There are people she knows here, people she likes, and that's good, for the most part. But the weather isn't as nice here, and there are strange people all around, people who for some reason think they've lived their whole lives in this city and won't hear a word different. It's nice to have an actual economy - Saffron's been thinking about what to do with herself, some way to start a livelihood - but the money that mysteriously appears in her bank account has her a little on edge. It's just like the island, in that there's an invisible force pulling the strings, but this time around, the strings seem a lot more visible to her.
She's been at Petros Park, just enjoying the outdoors, even though it's cooler than what she's mostly been used to in recent years. Now she's walking along, thinking about what to do for lunch, and as she passes the church just to the east of the park she stops, looking up at it. It's a nice enough building, but it's been a long time since Saffron's been in a church, and she's not about to start now.
